Aspiration psychrometers type MV-4M and type M-34 (with an electric motor) are designed to determine the relative humidity and air temperature in ground conditions (indoors and outdoors). When determining the humidity in the open air, the psychrometer is taken out of the room a quarter of an hour before observation and placed on a special column so that the thermometer reservoirs are at a height of 2 m above the soil.
The work of psychrometers is based on the dependence of the temperature difference between dry and wet thermometers on the ambient humidity air. Air humidity is determined according to the readings of dry and wet thermometers according to special psychrometric tables or psychrometric graphs, and air temperature - according to the readings of a dry thermometer.
